The Castellón Provincial Council is advancing in its commitment to renew and expand the resources of the Castellón Province Fire Department, responding to the needs of professionals. This was reported by the deputy responsible for the area, David Vicente, who assured that “the institution is working day by day to provide the firefighters of the provincial consortium with the best possible means to be able to cope with their daily work.”

As the deputy explained, the provincial institution will increase the number of work teams so that firefighters have the appropriate material. This is a series of equipment “to improve the service and safety of professionals,” said Vicente. In this sense, the deputy has expressed the commitment of the first president of the Castellón Provincial Council, Marta Barrachina, and her government team to the Firefighters Consortium and has assured that “with this action we respond to the demands of the firefighters”.

“From day one we have been working hand in hand with professionals, listening to their demands and responding as quickly as possible to make their work easier,” highlighted David Vicente, who added that the acquisition of the new materials has meant an investment of 1,237,000 euros.

Thus, the Provincial Council will provide the firefighters of the Castellón Provincial Consortium with a rescue boat, three light SUV-type vehicles, gym machinery, reusable respiratory protection masks with gas and particle filters, carrying cases and spare parts. These equipment will be added to the acquisition of two heavy forestry pumper vehicles, “equipped with different protection elements to guarantee the safety of firefighters in their work,” said David Vicente.

Without a doubt, this material will improve the performance of the fire prevention and extinguishing and rescue service and “provide our professionals with the most efficient, sustainable and safe means for optimal service provision. Protecting them is protecting the province,” the deputy declared.
