The Castellón Provincial Council has strengthened the Castellon Province Fire Department with the addition of 63 professionals to improve emergency response.
The new staff members have been distributed across the various shifts at the fire stations. “The addition of these 63 firefighters is a very important step in our commitment to the safety of the 135 municipalities and to the continuous improvement of the public services we provide through the Castellón Provincial Council.”
“Since the beginning of this term, we have been committed to providing our firefighters with the best possible resources, because safety is a priority for us. And we are achieving this with more personnel and faster, more effective response times,” the provincial leader emphasized.
Thus, 22 of the 63 new firefighters who have joined the Castellon Province Fire Departament have done so after completing their training at IVASPE (Valencian Institute of Public Security), while the other 41 firefighters come from a pool of candidates. Furthermore, the firefighters are distributed among the four fire stations: 21 at the Plana Baix Maestrat fire station; 10 at the Plana Alta fire station; 15 at the Plana Baixa fire station; and 17 at the Alto Palancia fire station.
In this regard, the Deputy for Firefighters, David Vicente, emphasized that “our priority is to guarantee the protection of our 135 municipalities and continue building a safer province, better prepared for any emergency.” And to achieve this, “it is essential to reinforce the workforce, thereby increasing the effectiveness of the service and preventing an increased workload for all employees,” added Vicente.
This distribution strengthens operational capacity throughout the province and guarantees faster response times to any emergency. Undoubtedly, the addition of these new personnel to the different fire stations will allow for reduced response times, extended shifts, and increased staffing.
