The Castellón Provincial Council reinforces the culture of fire prevention with a citizen awareness campaign

The Provincial Council of Castellón  reinforces the culture of fire prevention with a public awareness campaign. A campaign to create a safer province, because “fighting fires is a shared responsibility of the entire population, a battle that we must all win together.”

This was highlighted by the deputy Firefighter of the provincial institution David Vicente, who has stressed the importance of “citizen awareness and basic training of the population to act quickly and effectively in the event of a fire and to prevent it from causing greater harm.”

And, precisely, training and raising awareness among society in the fight against fire is what is intended to be achieved in Fire Prevention Week 2025, which was presented this Friday at the Provincial Palace. This event, which has been taking place since 2014, will take place from this Saturday, February 8, until next March 1, and will take place in different parts of the province.

The Firefighter Deputy has been in charge of presenting this campaign that, in collaboration with the Mapfre Foundation and the Professional Association of Firefighter Technicians (APTB), the Castellón Provincial Council and the Provincial Firefighters Consortium have designed to “raise awareness among the population about the importance of safety to reduce the risks of fires in the province of Castellón, especially those that occur in homes,” highlighted the Firefighters manager.

During the presentation, David Vicente was accompanied by the Chief Operations Officer of the Castellon Province Fire Departament, Andrés Balfagó; the head of the Prevention and Road Safety Area of the Mapfre Foundation, Antonio García; and the managing director of the Professional Association of Firefighter Technicians, Gabriel Muñoz.

In this way, the head of the Fire Department has underlined the importance of these actions, highlighting the commitment that the Provincial Government team has been demonstrating to the safety and protection of the province. A firm and real commitment that is reflected with the future creation of a dissemination unit in which “the Castellon Province Fire Department is permanently, throughout the year, carrying out preventive activities in the municipalities and not only in this prevention week,” David Vicente announced.
