The Castellon Province Fire Department unanimously approves the budget for 2024, reaching 22.78 million euros

The General Assembly of the Castellon Province Fire Departement has unanimously approved today in the Castellón Provincial Council the budget for the organization for the next financial year. The accounts for the year 2024 amount to 22,783,405.04 euros, which represents an increase of 0.76% (172,336.75 euros) compared to 2023.

The approval of the budget has been carried out unanimously and, as the deputy of the Fire Department, David Vicente, has pointed out, “with the approval of the budget for the next year we continue with the roadmap set out by the president of the Provincial Council of Castellón, Marta Barrachina, and the provincial government team to reinforce the personal and material means of a body that ensures the safety of all citizens.”

As for personal resources, Chapter I, allocated to personnel expenses, represents 68.50% of the total budget, exceeding 15.6 million euros.

Regarding material resources, that is, investments, 2,184,003.11 euros have been allocated, representing 9.59% of the budget. “The investments are aimed at consolidating the infrastructure and operation of the public service provided by the Provincial Firefighters Consortium,” indicated deputy David Vicente. This amount will be invested to undertake, among other investments, the construction of a new Fire Station in Oropesa for an amount of 1,239,957.55 euros. It is also planned to reform and adapt the Nules park, as well as other reforms in the Fire Consortium parks for an amount of 45,249.70 euros.

Within the investment chapter, the construction of several helipads also stands out, an investment that is part of Diputació Respon, the provincial rapid response plan for disasters. The construction of helipads is one of the main objectives of the Provincial Government’s government program to guarantee an urgent medical evacuation of the citizens of the 135 municipalities of the province. Remember that the Diputació Respon plan, to be executed throughout the legislature, also includes a line of credit for possible catastrophes and a nearby and useful technical office that resolves and expedites problems in inland municipalities.

We continue with the budget of the Provincial Firefighters Consortium, the purchase of various materials, machinery, technical installations and tools with a total amount of 244,800 euros are also part of the investments for 2024, as well as the acquisition of various light vehicles, for an amount of 271,495.86 euros.

The acquisition of various protective materials and equipment for firefighters (130,000 euros) is part of the investments to be made to improve the conditions of the fire department’s personnel. 15,500 euros are allocated for material for civil protection volunteers.

Finally, 40,000 euros will also be allocated for the acquisition of replacement equipment for communications management, in addition to 10,000 euros for the acquisition of various computer equipment.
