Success of the Prevention Fair held in Torreblanca

Fire Prevention Week concluded with a major Prevention Fair held on March 1st in Torreblanca, bringing to a close nearly a month of recreational and educational activities that reached more than 4,000 participants.

This initiative was organized by the Provincial Firefighters Consortium and the Castellón Provincial Council, and promoted nationally by the MAPFRE Foundation and the APTB. In the case of the fair, it enjoyed the collaboration of the Torreblanca City Council to be held in the city.

The Prevention Fair, held in the city’s most central squares and streets, attracted thousands of visitors, especially families. Participants of all ages were able to climb aboard firefighter vehicles, enjoy brochures and training videos, attend first aid workshops, and, for the little ones, have fun zip-lining. Another point of interest was the House of Prevention, where a smoke-filled home was recreated to teach participants what to do in the event of a fire.

The Deputy Firefighter, David Vicente, present at the event, stated that “in our department, we are committed to promoting these types of activities, since bringing the world of prevention to the streets is the most direct and fun way to achieve a society better prepared for risks and emergencies.”

To make this fair a reality, various professional and volunteer firefighter teams from the Consortium and units from the Provincial Council’s Civil Protection Volunteer Group participated, along with collaborating entities, the Torreblanca City Council, and participating resources from health services and security forces.

“The residents of Torreblanca and the entire province have been able to see how our personnel are always at their side, not only in the event of an emergency, but also constantly and preventively throughout the year.”

This fair marked the culmination of a broad program of more than 30 activities held between February 8 and March 1, taking place at fire stations, schools, associations, and senior centers.
