Fire Prevention Week started on February 8 with an intense program that is reaching every corner of the province. A campaign carried out by the Castellón Provincial Council and the Castellon Province Fire Department, together with the Mapfre Foundation and the Professional Association of Firefighter Technicians (APTB).
Its objective is to promote citizen awareness regarding home fires, trying to reach audiences of all ages. Thus, all fire stations, both professional and voluntary, have held open days to receive visits from families and neighborhoods in their facilities, who in a very close way know better the work of firefighters and also what to do to avoid a fire.
In addition to these activities within the parks, firefighters have also visited educational centers in several locations, to carry out training actions in classrooms and playgrounds, both primary and secondary schools. In some cases, evacuation drills have even been carried out where all center staff have been able to learn the steps to follow in the event of a fire breaking out in their building.
And to further amplify the preventive message, several talks have also been held for citizens, senior centers and associations, which have attended the visit of the Consortium’s troops with great interest.
Videos, demonstrations, practices and talks are marking the first days of Prevention Week, an intense program of which many activities still lie ahead.
