The Castellón Province Fire Department rescued six people who had suffered various incidents in the mountains of the province, in six different municipalities and in just three hours. For the most part, these are hikers and cyclists who had been injured so that they could not walk, incidents that in a narrow margin of three hours have been repeated in the towns of Traiguera, Artana, Cabanes, Torás, Villahermosa and Ludiente.
To carry out the high number of rescues, with very atypical cases for a single morning, the Fire Department has mobilized the Baix Maestrat, Plana Alta, Plana Baixa, Alto Palancia, Alcalatén and Espadà-Millars fire stations. In addition, and due to the difficulty of access for some of the victims, in three of the rescues the specialist firefighters of the Mountain Rescue Unit (URM) have been mobilized, and have accessed the injured people by rescue helicopter from the Generalitat Valenciana. All those rescued people have been treated by medical services.
