The Castellon Province Fire Department continues its training sessions for municipal leaders, offering them tools and knowledge to effectively manage any incident affecting the population through workshops led by Consortium professionals. Four of these workshops have already been held to date, with great success.
The objective of these workshops, which began last July, is for municipal leaders to understand how to “act with certainty and greater professionalism in the event of a local emergency,” stated the Deputy for Firefighters, David Vicente.
“For the Castellón Provincial Council, it is essential to raise awareness and train the mayors of our municipalities on the importance of emergency planning and to provide them with the essential tools and knowledge to be able to act diligently and effectively in any emergency,” the Provincial Deputy insisted.
During these training sessions, the powers and responsibilities of such management at the municipal level were reviewed within the Municipal Territorial Emergency Plan (PTME) in the Valencian Community. This is a technical and regulatory document that aims to establish the organization and procedures for municipal resources and services to respond to any type of emergency that may occur within the municipality. “Hence the importance of each mayor being familiar with this plan and its implementation,” emphasized David Vicente.
Likewise, attendees at the sessions organized by the Castellon Province Fire Department learned firsthand the municipality’s coordination protocols with the Firefighters Consortium and other administrations involved in an emergency, as well as the use of emergency communications equipment from the Valencian Government’s CoordCom network.
