Letter of thanks to the firefighting teams of Villanueva de Viver wildfire

Last March, the province of Castellón was affected by the Villanueva de Viver forest fire, an atypical fire for these dates of the year, which began on the 23rd of that month and whose extinction efforts, directed from the department de Bomberos de Diputación de Castellón, have continued until April 10. With close to 5,000 hectares affected and more than 1,000 people evicted, this fire reminds us that extinction operations must always be alert and prepared to act in any forest fire, beyond the traditional summer season.

The efforts of hundreds of people and numerous organizations have made it possible for the Villanueva de Viver fire to be contained and finally to stop its progress towards more areas of our rich natural heritage, also avoiding damage to inhabited areas. Attached here is the letter of thanks for this work, from the deputy delegate of firefighters of the Castellón Provincial Council, Abel Ibáñez.
