The months of January and February were marked by wind-related incidents, exacerbated by a succession of up to eight storms that affected the Valencian Community in just a few weeks. In the province of Castell\u00f3n, this atypical weather phenomenon culminated in a red alert for wind on February 14th. That month, the Castell\u00f3n Province Fire Department responded to approximately 480 wind-related incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These interventions involved the Fire Department personnel removing objects that had fallen onto public roads, or securing them to prevent further damage and potential personal injuries. These types of actions included the removal and clearing of fallen trees, metal plates, fences, advertising signs, and facade elements such as walls, cornices, and awnings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s worth remembering that to address the red alert, the Castell\u00f3n Fire Consortium activated a plan that involved reinforcing the four professional fire stations located in Benicarl\u00f3, Oropesa, Nules, and Segorbe, as well as deploying personnel to the five volunteer fire stations in Onda, Lucena del Cid, Benassal, Morella, and Atzeneta del Maestrat. Additionally, the four BRAF units, personnel from the Provincial Council’s Civil Protection Group, the UML Logistics Machinery Unit, and all 20 Generalitat forest fire units assigned to the Consortium were also activated. Furthermore, to handle all incidents, the number of operators at the Provincial Coordination Center was increased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
